Which data we process

Price alerts: when you set up an alert, we store your email address, the product and the price you want, only to notify you when it is reached. We only send these emails because you asked for them, and you can stop them at any time with the unsubscribe link in each one. So that you can manage your alerts without a password, we send a single-use link to the same address.

IP address: we use it to limit the number of requests per visitor and to prevent abuse. It is also logged when you click a shop link, so that we can check the commissions shops report to us. We do not send it to the shop or to the affiliate network.

Favourites and saved searches: they are stored in your own browser. If you have an account, they are also stored there so you have them on all your devices.

User account: if you create an account, we store your email address, the date you signed up and last signed in, your favourites and your saved searches with their notifications. We do not store a password, name or photo. If you sign in with Google, Google only sends us your verified email address and an identifier for your Google account. We use this information only to run your account.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand which parts of the website are useful. The Google script is only loaded once you agree: if you do not, not a single request goes to Google and no analytics cookie is set.

Who receives it

We do not sell personal information. The service providers needed to run the site process it only on our behalf and under contract: hosting and infrastructure with Google Cloud (in the Netherlands), delivery and protection with Cloudflare, and email sending with Brevo. This means your information is disclosed to and stored outside Australia, mainly in the European Union, and some of these providers may also process it in the United States. The operator of this website is also based outside Australia, in Spain.

Links to stores and affiliate networks

When you click a link to a store, it goes through our /go/ address and on to the store, sometimes via an affiliate network such as Awin. We record that click (which offer, which store and when) to count visits and check commissions, with no information that could identify you beyond the IP address described above. We do not send your name, your email address or any other information about you to the network or the store. Once you are on their site, the affiliate network and the store may use their own cookies to know that the purchase came from here. That is their decision, as the parties responsible for it, and it is governed by their own privacy policy, which in Awin's case is published at awin.com.

How long we keep data

Alert data is kept while the alert is active and deleted when you unsubscribe. Management links expire after a few minutes. Technical logs with IP addresses are kept for as long as needed to control abuse and verify commissions.

Account data is kept for as long as you keep the account. If you delete it, your email address, the link to Google and all open sessions are removed straight away. What remains (the dates and the removed favourites and searches) is no longer linked to you or to any data that could identify you, and is only kept for statistics.

Your privacy rights

You can ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it, by writing to the address below. We answer within 30 days, free of charge. If you have a complaint about how we handle your information, write to us first. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (www.oaic.gov.au).
